Feeling low? Look at your food

If you’ve been feeling under the weather and can’t get a handle on it you may want to look into the possibility of a food allergy or intolerance.

Take gluten, for instance; those who suffer from Celiac Disease may experience bloating, fatigue, vomiting; some even suffer seizures! Though even if you aren’t technically “allergic” to gluten you can still suffer an intolerance to it, which can lead to symptoms such as severe joint pain, brain fog and depression. Many things you consume may not treat you to an allergic reaction but it doesn’t mean it’s helping you out, either. Work with a professional to find the cause.

And it’s good to note that just as some things can harm you, others may possibly help you get to feeling like your old self again. If you suffer heavily from PMS consult your doctor and see if omega 3 fish oil could benefit you – or something such as ALCAR might help improve brain function. Sometimes the simplest changes – from drinking more water to limiting caffeine – can also show the most marked improvements to one’s health.

If you do suspect you have issues with specific foods, consider speaking with your doctor or a nutritionist to help guide your through a food-elimination diet to see what exactly may be triggering your ill feelings. And if you do find you have an allergy or intolerance don’t feel it’s the end of the world because more and more food items are being specifically made to help you feel good whilst still eating foods you can enjoy.
